An old-fashioned iron kettle and it can be used direct fire.
Although it requires care, it is a popular method of iron supplementation.
Hot water boiled in an iron kettle has a reputation for being mellow and difficult to cool.
Even on a chilly day, the steam from the iron kettle seems to warm you up.
"Skin" is characterized by a plain, rough face-like texture.
While there are many wonderful iron kettles decorated with flowers and patterns, it is an interesting part of the historical Nanbu Tekki that such simple variations are also made.
An oxide film is attached to prevent rusting, but please dry it sufficiently with residual heat each time you use it.
If red rust appears, you can use it as it is if it does not smell, but if you are concerned, put black tea or sencha boil it, and the red rust and tannin will combine to black rust and it will become an oxide film.
Please use it as it is even if it gets limescale.

Nanbu cast Iron ware, characterized by its delicate cast and profound coloration is Morioka's traditional craft that has been created over a long period of history and nature.
It has a long history and has been preserved and raised by generations of southern lords who have a deep knowledge of culture for about 400 years ago.
