(Note) :

A incense burner made in Takaoka, a town of foundry.
This incense burner is manufactured by the traditional method called 生型鋳造Namagata-chuzo, and most of the process is done by hand.
The neat owl design is cute, and it has a good weight and is very easy to use.
Owls(Fukuro) have long been known as 不苦労Fukuro(Who never have a hard life) and are a very popular motif because they are auspicious.

生型鋳造Namagata-chuzo
This is the main technique that developed the Takaoka copperware. Put a master mold of the same shape as the product in the wooden or metal top and bottom frame, put sand and press it. A sand mold can be made by removing top and bottom frames and taking out the prototype. Pour the melted metal into this.

Takaoka traditional crafts
400 years old foundry town. Takaoka's skilled craftsmen manufacture it one by one carefully by old fashioned manufacturing method.
Overseas, it was introduced through the 1862 London World Exposition and the 1867 Paris World Exposition, and art copper ware has established a firm position as an export product.
