In Japan, owl(Fukuro) figurines are loved as auspicious things such as "福来" (meaning that fortune comes), "福籠" (a lot of fortune is packed in a basket), and "福老" (getting old happily). It is also said to be foresighted because of its nocturnal nature, the guardian deity of the house, the guardian angel, and night vision.
