・Yakusugi
Yakusugi is a type of cedar that grows naturally in mountainous areas over 500 meters above sea level on Yakushima Island. Currently, cutting down Yakusugi is prohibited, and only stumps, fallen trees, and other "buried wood" can be processed into a rare, high-quality material. As it is said that "Yakusugi = the evil(Yaku) has passed(Sugi)," it is treasured as a talisman for longevity, ward off evil spirits, prosperity, good fortune, and good luck.
・Hawks eye
When the iron in crocidolite, the main component, oxidizes and turns brown, it is called Tiger Eye, and when it is blue and unoxidized, it is called Hawks Eye. Its blue color, which stands out in the black and changes color depending on the angle, is very attractive. Since ancient times, it has been considered a powerful to ward off evil and is said to keep misfortune away.
