Mino ware is a general term for pottery made in part of the Tono region of Gifu prefecture. The Tono region is Japan's largest porcelain production base, and Toki City is the largest porcelain production city in Japan. The production area is extensive, including Tajimi City, Toki City, Mizunami City, and Kani City. Mino ware with a history of 1300 years.

Mino ware is one of the best-known Japanese traditional potteries. During the years from the Azuchi-Momoyama period to the early years of the Edo period, pottery reflected the taste of tea masters as tea ceremony grew in popularity. The pottery of this style made in that period is called Mino-Momoyama ware.
