From the latter half of the Meiji era to the Taisho era, in the world of arts and crafts, we have created unique designs by connecting the European Art Nouveau and the Rinpa school.
The designs of that era still resonate people as modern and retro.
The camellia that brilliant bloom when are few flowers season, and shiny camellia leaves and longevity, so it is regarded as a "symbol of vitality and prosperity", and its existence is also sacred.
A craftsman in Kyoto dyed it with wax, carefully placing "wax" one by one and dyeing it by delicate hand.
Dye collects on the edge of the placed "wax", and the edge stands out and makes you feel the depth.
It blends mysteriously into both "Japanese" and "Western" spaces and heals the mind.
The Noren is originally used for the entrance of the house for the light removal.
It is also a feature of Noren that you can easily change the atmosphere of the room by hiding the back of the house from the entrance at the time of visiting,using the goods as a partition of the room and blindfold.
