Kiyomizu is one of the traditional crafts that representative Kyoto, originally started in the pottery of Kiyomizu Slope neighborhood toward theKiyomizu-dera.

Pottery and porcelain made in Kyoto is generally known as Kyo-style ceramics, Kiyomizu ware.
