(Features)
A representative wood of Kiso, which is one of the Kiso five tree. The best good wood in the world among conifers.
The annual rings are slightly indistinct and pale tan to pale red. The wood grain is fine and the nice fragrance.
It has been used as a building material for a long time because it has increased strength for hundreds of years after logging and has high preservation stability. It is used in many shrines and temples such as Horyuji Temple. Among them, Kiso cypress is used in the Ise Jingu shrine, which is rebuilt every 20 years (Shikinen Sengu), and is considered to be the best building material.
