This is a formal rosary for men for the Jodo and Jishu sects, with "Namu Amida Butsu" carved into Yakusugi that grow naturally on Yakushima, a World Heritage Site. Currently, cutting down Yakusugi is prohibited, and only certain parts of fallen trees from typhoons and other events are permitted to be harvested, making it a rare, high-quality material. Yakusugi have survived in harsh natural environments for over 1,000 years, and they contain an abundance of resin to protect themselves, which gives off a soothing scent.
You can feel the aura of life in the mystical Yakusugi, which are said to be home to gods, and the ancient forests. "Namu Amida Butsu" is an important chant of prayer in the Jodo and Jodo Shinshu sects, and is considered a source of spiritual support. This rosary has "Namu Amida Butsu" carved into the mystical Yakusugi, which are said to be home to gods, and allow you to feel the merits close to you at all times.
The tassels are made of beautiful and supple Kyoto-made pure silk Kabontenfusa, inspired by lotus flowers. The tag is from the Kyoto Rosary Manufacturing Wholesale Cooperative, which is only allowed to be attached to traditional "Kyoto Rosary". This is a masterpiece made by a Kyoto Rosary maker with expert skills.
