Note :
The Daitokuji bell/Keisu, a genuine hand-forged "Shoryu" Orin, is made using Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, metalworking techniques and has an exquisite tone created by traditional craftsmen.
Metalworking involves patiently hammering and forging brass sheets while annealing them using tools such as hammers, anvils, and metalworking tools.
Takaoka's hand-forged keisu, which have faithfully inherited the metalworking techniques that have been a handicraft of hammersmiths since the ancient Kaga domain era, are now considered valuable traditional crafts throughout the country.
It is said that the life of a keisu lies in its tone.
Adjusting the pitch and tone of the melody is called "producing a sound," but the technique of creating this tone is the most crucial aspect of keisu-making. The instrument is completed when the pitch and wavelength of the three sounds, commonly known by artisans as Kan, Otsu, and Mon, are all adjusted.
To bring out the traditional "sound" that has been passed down since ancient times, delicate sensitivity and years of training are essential, and Shoryu-brand Keisu are made to the fullest extent using techniques that have been honed and passed down secretly through generations.
