It is a product of "high class" Wakasa lacquered chopsticks.
A 'togidashi technique' is used in which a pattern is created with abalone shells, eggshells, gold foil, pine needles, etc., and then applied layers of lacquer and polished.

-Wakasa lacquered chopsticks-
The characteristic of Wakasa lacquered chopsticks is that shells and eggshells reminiscent of the seabed are coated with colorful lacquer more than ten times. By carefully polishing the layers of lacquer that has been applied, a beautiful seabed-like texture emerges. Wakasa lacquered chopsticks are also called 'Crane's beak' because the tips of the chopsticks are thin and pointed, and they are also said to an auspicious chopsticks that bring good luck and longevity.
